Safeguarding children is everybody’s business! The definition of safeguarding is keeping children safe from harm; things such as illness, abuse or injury. Everyone is responsible for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All members of our community can help to safeguard and promote children’s welfare; being mindful of their needs and acting upon any concerns. We at Rose Hill will take all reasonable measures to ensure children’s welfare is maintained at the highest possible standard.
The Designated Safeguarding Officers for Rose Hill Primary School are: L. Hatcher, A. Wilson, A. Osborne and M. Shadbolt.
On-Line Safety is an important part of keeping children safe at Rose Hill Primary School. We have extensive security measures in place in school, which are monitored both internally and externally, to help safeguard pupils from potential dangers or unsuitable material. On-Line Safety incidents are recorded and managed in accordance with our on-line safety policy. On-Line safety is taught to all pupils explaining and demonstrating how to stay safe and behave appropriately online.
We can only be successful in keeping children safe online if we work with parents to ensure the on-line safety message is consistent. It is important that parents speak to their children about how they can keep safe and behave appropriately online.
It’s essential to be realistic - banning the internet or technology will not work and it often makes a child less likely to report a problem. Education around safe use is essential.
