Science

My name is Miss Jermyn, I lead and LOVE science!

Why? Because science is everywhere - it is so important

in our everyday lives, develops technology, brings

new discoveries and you get to take part in fun,

hands on experiments! I also love interesting science

facts! Did you know that the human foot has 26 bones?

I’d love to hear any science facts you know –

come and tell me!

Here at Rose Hill our children are scientists. As a core subject, science teaching and learning develops children’s scientific knowledge and skills, provides the foundations for understanding the world around them and encourages curiosity. Children learn through hands-on experiences in exciting and inspiring ways. They work scientifically, developing their understanding of the nature, process and methods of science throughout their time here.

In EYFS, children develop such skills as observation, prediction, critical thinking and discussion. They gain scientific knowledge which forms the foundations for them to build on.
